We are at the rough-in stage in our new construction.
We will be installing a HRV. I was planning to install an exhaust fan in our master bath as well as the HRV. Following previous posts on this subject, an exhaust fan seemed to be recommended by several people on the list. I have two choices for the exhaust fan, through the ceiling (and vapor barrier) into the attic and out the soffit or gable end wall which faces the prevailing wind. 8-10 feet of duct this way.
The second way is to exit thru the end wall of the bathroom leading to an upper corner in the master clauset, then then directly out a sheltered exterior wall.
I like the wall exit approach best, my old school builder and electrician say the attic route is better as the fan will be in the center of the room. The wall fan will be very close to the HRV exhaust. Anyone have any advice?
