Despite all the enviro alternatives, I know, I have a friend (who ain't
carin' about the enviro too much) who needs a new furnace ASAP. It's
still cold up here in Michigan.

Does anyone have some recommendations for gas furnaces.

I see Amana (AMV9 Gas Furnace) and Bryant (Plus 90i and Plus 95i) carry
some decent ones.

Any sugguestions would be great.....

"I'd put my money on the sun and solar energy. What a source of power! I
hope we don't have to wait till oil and coal run out before we tackle
that."
~~Thomas Edison, 1931

>"Buildings are rarely built to use energy efficiently, despite the
sizeable costs that inefficient designs impose on building owners,
occupants, and the utility companies that serve them. The reasons for
this massive market failure have to do with the institutional framework
within which buildings are financed, designed, constructed, and
operated: many of the roughly two dozen actors who play a role in this
process have perverse incentives that reward inefficient practice.
Fragmented and commoditized design, false price signals, and
substitution of obsolete rules-of-thumb for true engineering
optimization have yielded buildings that cost more to build, are less
comfortable, and use more energy than they should."
