[Greenbuilding] woodstove efficiency: ashes/dryweight?

The amount of ashes generated reflects the proportion of incombustible 
mineral in the wood.   Inefficient combustion results in creosote and related 
uncombusted volitiles and charcoal, which is very beneficial when returned to the 
soil.   The ashes themselves are fertilizer.
