[Greenbuilding] Gas furnace

1. Load calculation, Manual J, accurate to house as built, insulation, 
windows, area and R/U-values/SHGC, blower door test, tight ducts selected
2. Manual D duct design to check if ducts are adequate.
3. Manual T grill/register design.
4. undersize unit some from design load
5. ACCA Quality Installation checklist
6. Tight ducts <6% design airflow.

Check to see if there are any Home Performance contractors in the area.

Have a HERS Rating done on the house www.natresnet.org

In a gas furnace I like the Bryant (also Carrier brand) 96.6% AFUE 2 
heating stage ECM variable speed fan, or equivalent by other manufactures.
