[Greenbuilding] salvaging insulated glass units

Rob,

I will give the glass unit the match test. Thanks!

I was under the impression that if I want a low mass, quick heating sunspace or solar space, I should use clear single pane glass for maximum solar transmission. I assume my failed triple glazed units cut solar transmission up to 40 or more percent. I am planning this space to be in front of insulated glass units so in essence the 18 inch wide sunspace will add another layer of glazing but I can move the heat from behind the single glazing into my living space either by natural convection or a 12 volt PV powered fan on a thermostat. Am I on the right track?
