[Greenbuilding] Advice on Zero-clearance wood stoves

Try a "mobile home approved" stove or "close clearance" stove.  I have used an Oregon model (Brass Flame) in one in my houses for 19 years and another model of the same brand in our "new" house for 8 years (neither a mobile home) and I really like them.  Since it was -20F last night, it is running right now.

They have two layers or shields on the back and one on the sides and reduce clearances to about 12 inches or less, depending on the model and whether it is measured on the side or the back.  The single wall stove pipe also has a shield on it to allow closer clearances.
