Hi Keith;

Based on gasification, which is the most efficient way to burn
wood, the Sedore stove is, by far, the best one going. It is not
anything new, in any more than its details. It just simple makes
everything passive, like the gravity fuel feed. Otherwise it just
draws the smoke back down through the coals and grate, like
Vermont castings and some other stoves have been doing for
decades. And, it adds secondary combustion air, just like
Scandinavian air-tights have been doing, all along. The Sedore,
just provided the smoke no other way to go, so you don't have
to blast the stove, for it to operate efficiently There is no other
"magic" except that it just does more things right than any
other stove.

My WoodGas group has 2500 members, many who have
wood burner design as their field of study. No one has had
anything but praise for the Sedore design. We only have one
member who actually owns and uses one, since they have only
been available in the US for a few months, but his reports are
also glowing. There will always be old-fart traditionalists among
wood burners, who will hate everything that is not their father's
wood burner. And, gasification, though it is the technology that
powered the early industrial revolution, is still not your father's
wood burner. Don't let those Ludites get you down. They
hated gasification 200 years ago, too ;O) The Sedore is
actually configured almost exactly like a Scandianavian air
tight, up ended, with its door/vents facing downward. Of
course, the Sedore opens and loads from the top. You
can ask, on the WoodGas group, and I would expect that
the member who owns one will respond You could also
do an archive search for his post about the stove.
