Are there designers on this list that are using Retscreen Energy Analyzing
software.

Free download is available at this site.

I just attended a presentation by the developers of Retscreen software in
Washington DC. This is an energy analyzing program developed by the
Canadian government to encourage energy conservation world wide and
therefore reduce greenhouse emissions. They offer this program for free
because they recognize the reducing greenhouse gas emissions requires
everybody to succeed. Therefore, distributing knowledge is a motivation,
over holding proprietary knowledge.

This looks like a very impressive program. I downloaded it for free.
However, it depends on running through Excel. My Excel Copy is ordered.

This program includes many areas of energy conservation and production.
There is much more here than I will ever get into in my work. However, they
are trying to make the data accessible. Our own USA is contributing to this
project through NASA data that is embedded into the program to make it
applicable world wide. They are also embedding ground data from sources
such as airports where it is accessible to them.

All and all, very impressive. I am wondering are there users out there
using this program. What is your opinion. I was looking at their user
group discussion. It is still very light at this point.
