I appreciate that you like this particular model, but on what basis other
than price are you recommending it? The tests we've linked to provide a
thorough review of a variety of parameters related to performance, but
unfortunately not including price. While this is a good starting point, I've
long been interested in toilets that can do the job using less than
the 1.6gpf mandated since 1992. Some dual-flush models, though
relatively more
expensive, seem to accomplish the task with ~0.8 gpf (it is unclear to me
what the second button is for), and the 1.6gpf model I have throttled and
metered approaches this value--at roughly half the purchase price of, say, a
low-end Caroma two-button model. I am told that California is soon to phase
in a 1.28 gpf standard, and the tables cited imply that some authority is or
will soon be mandating 1.1 gpf....
