I try to cook outdoors in the summer, and enjoy cooking and baking in
the winter. I just made something that had to simmer for several
hours. I figure this is not wasteful as I am heating the house at the
same time. But I am uncertain: is cooking with a gas stovetop or oven
a more efficient or less efficient heating source than my (86%
efficient) gas fired boiler which pumps water to the radiators. My
common sense says the stove wins, but I don't have the background to
know for sure.
