[Greenbuilding] flooring conundrum

     I think you should just throw yourself at that hump and grind  
it, plane it,
     saw it down. A miserable task, no doubt, but you'll be glad when  
it's done.
     Or at least tear up/cut out the plywood in the worst spots.
