Hi all,
My wife and I are planning to open a Green Daycare center, and are looking
at options for an affordable, sustainable, and healthy building, that we can
LEED certify. I'm a landscape Architect and don't consider myself an expert
in building technology, but I know the basics in terms of orientation, etc,
and have worked on a few LEED projects, all much bigger than this one
though. We've been looking at the Butler building systems because we know
of a good contractor in our area (Vermont), and they seem fairly
affordable/sustainable. I followed the recent thread on green renovations
closely, as well as most threads for the last year or so, and I'm wondering
if the listserve would do a similar top five - ten - twenty for a new
building. I'm especially interested in what folks would suggest for the
Building Envelope -eg Insulation, Windows, Doors, for Northeastern climate.
Thanks so much,
Doug Crowell
