[Greenbuilding] [BULK] Foam board under sheetrock question

I've done this twice, once on a commercial brick building and once on a
ramshackle uninsulated farmhouse. It is a really straightforward
process - put up the foam, add sheetrock, and figure out a way to trim
around the windows.
While not quite as complete as an exterior foam job (you miss the rim
joist areas) it is an effective way to addinsulation in a remodel where
blowing insulation into walls isn't practical, as in a brick building.

Subject: [BULK] [Greenbuilding] Foam board under sheetrock question
Importance: Low
Hello I was wondering if anyone has experience in applying foam board
over an existing wall and then sheetrocking over that. I have a bed
room that I want ot remodel which has 2x4 construction that always is
too hot or cold and could use some more insulation. Wall paper was
applied without primer and is impossible to remove along with some other
changes I want to make. I am thinking that re-sheetrocking with 1-2"
foam board under would be a good fix and also add some noise control.
Not sure about how easily it can be done though.
Does any one have experience/acvice about doing this? This is in the
southwest where we have little humidity and hot summers with cold winter
nights.
Nick
