I personally am in communication with hundreds of VW TDI owners, and the
overwhelming majority have owned only TDIs over and over again.
How's this for a "Worst Used Car"? Our 1996 Passat TDI wagon sold new for
$19K. I was happy to pay $12K for it in 2001. I could sell it today for
$10-$12K, and you'd be lucky to find one in reasonable shape for $8K (close
to half the original sale price at 12 years old). Kindly show me another
used car that holds that kind of value. I'd say that resale value speaks
volumes for the quality a car can maintain over it's lifetime.
