I notice you didnt include buses?

Leisure is of course the enemy. Destroy the notion of
motion as entertainment and eliminate combustion
engines for anything other than essential sustainable
employment and we might have something to work with
here. All roller coasters golf courses and of course
race tracks should be abolished for starters.
Recreational vehicles should be banned forthwith along
with more than one tractor per collective per hundred
square miles .or straight back to horses no messing
around?

Eliminate air travel entirely. Construct sailing ships
of recycled steel smelted in Iceland by natural
volcanic heat for moving goods and "retired"
individuals in.

Require the non productive everywhere to live in
communities (where they grow their own food) in parts
of the world where there are no fuel costs to keep
them warm in Winter (or cool etc).

au revoir

A commodity appears at first sight an extremely
obvious, trivial thing. But its analysis brings out
that it is a very strange thing, abounding in
metaphysical subtleties and theological niceties.

Thanks for your thoughts, Michael.

Do I detect some subtle difficulty in coming to grips with the end of the
world as we have known it?

Reuben is doing what he thinks he needs to do to fit in the world as he sees
it. Nowhere in his post did I see any hint that he prescibed his specific
actions for anyone else.

Reuben described his world, and you described yours, Michael. The
participants on this list will no doubt take both under advisement.
