     Yeah, I'll buy that.  They only really torch in the spring,  
after they stay frozen all winter as I add material, which freezes.   
In the spring, they thaw and then a short time later start to reduce  
dramatically in volume.

     New Hampshire.  Just a bit cooler than western Massachusetts,  
though it still doesn't hit -40° very often.
