A friend of mine built a sunspace with a sand floor, complete with a beach ball and a little toy sand bucket.  "Life's a beach!" she said, but 5 years later she was tired of constantly vacuuming the sand out of the house, and scooping the kitty presents out of the sand.  Natural it is, but sand, mulch, etc are a mess.  Maybe the Astroturf is better.
