Roger,
One of the greatest scientists I know, Albert Einstein said "How do I 
work? I grope!"

Since as far as I can determine this list is fueled mainly by gropers,  
that would put them in the same category as one of the greatest 
scientists of all time. 

Lots of learning does not intelligence make.
