As much of the offgas from a tlud stove is actually an aerosol this
does not surprise me at all, I would have expected a bit of Nitrogen,
Co2 and CO though, but probably not enough to sustain a flame as most
of the calorific value is in the "smoke" of small tar particles. We
know from posts on gasifiers that you need to crack these tars at
temperatures higher than 850C and then quench them quickly to get true
fuel gases like H2 and CO. I guess this is why the town gas industry
was notorious for having noxious compounds as a by product of the gas
making.

Thanks Dr. Karve. Yes it is a timely reminder to snip posts, the first
few lines of the digest specifically ask you not to reply with the
whole post so please be careful, I'm sure it adds a big cost burden to
people still on expensive dial up accounts to receive these
unnecessarily long posts.
