Dear Crispin (and others), 

I enjoyed your "rant" about scientific groping and the difference between education and intelligence - good ideas well said. However, my experience of Engineers without Borders (in the UK) has been of unparalleled support for investigating stove design and optimisation, and can't fault them. Similarly the Royal Academy of Engineering and University of Nottingham have been very interested in trying to work towards better stove designs. I'm only sorry that there is not enough joined-up thinking between these organisations and I'd like to sing the praises of this REPP list for helping bring us all together.
