Dear Jeff Davis
I don't know if anyone else has tried this but we accidentally found out
last year that our split firewood found laying in a natural slurry of chicken
manure and water from a very heavy rain, once re-dried out gave us a tremendous
boost in heat energy given off per wood piece. This was old cottonwood, and
usually burns like dry paper-hot and fast. This particular wood seemed to burn
longer and even hotter. We have a cord(give or take) sitting in the exact
same chicken manure slurry right now and more waiting. We will try to keep
records of the difference between it and the regular dry wood. Just a thought,
but this might be yet another way to use all that dung! Bob.
