Dear All:
*"**However we gave up the idea since CO in an* *enclosed environment of
a rural household will be very lethal."*
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Holly smoke. And to think that my sainted mother cooked all my meals up
until 1940 over a flame of CO and H2 (city gas). What was she thinking
of!!! I'm "posttoxified".
Someone made this same statement to me about our WoodGas stoves in
1985. However, WoodGas typically contains enough contaminents to make
its presence intolerable. If not, oderants can be added.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Seriously, all fuels, solid, liquid or gas, contain both C and H. They
can all be converted to a "hydrogen rich gas" containing CO and H2 with
simple gasifiers or reformers. This gas burns much more cleanly than
ANY other fuel because of the wide combustion limits given by
hydrogen. So, we will need to learn to live with CO again, as our
ancestors did from 1800-1940.
Back to the future with gasification and reforming.
Yours truly,
TOM REED BEF
