The wish is great to light the home with electricity if there is no
line power available .for the 3 billion poor people !
The heat to electro converters made of BISMUTH-TELLURIDE are rather
expensive for a low power .
I wonder how to make it yourself ? Bismuth melting in thin layers and
cover it with tellurium by electrolysis ,I would guess .
A more power-full and cheap solution would be a mini turbine driven
by steam to an alternator .
You can try to make it from scrap for low price as follows :
A 5-10 liter vessel , fire extinghwisher or camping gas vessel serves
as steam vessel in the stove .
8mm tubing goes out side to a turbine made of compressed air motor used
in auto shops for dismounting weel bolds .
This turbine must drive an alternator of a small car ..Modifyed with a
field of strong permanent magnets from PC hard disques drives ...
Or a permanent motor (POLYMOTOR ) from a PHILIPS washing machine used as
DC dynamo .
Mind a car alternator generate 3 phase AC ( before the diodes ) which
you can transform to other voltages !
DC must be chopped for step up .
The electrical power will be smaller than the mechanical ,but if you get
50 watts , the goal is hit
Don’t forget safety valves against overpressure !. And a water filling
line to an other pressure vessel with cold water .
For easy filling of a hot empty vessel .
Make experiments with a steam cleaner first . See turbine power to steam
consumption first .. .
Probably every hour refilling is a must .and disadvantage .. Or think
about a dual overlapping and automatic refill .
Greetings and happy experimenting .
