It is worth reminding everyone that in the '3rd World' there are many people
who do not live isolated tech-free lives. Cell phones and cellphone banking
are widespread in the DRCongo because there is no normal banking system. It
is one of the least developed counties in the world.

I find transistor radios, and people who know how fix them, absolutely
everywhere.

This concept of something being high tech because it is electronic is
misplaced in my view. High tech refers to design, not execution in my brief
book.

The Maputo Ceramic Stove is an attempt to bring very high tech design and
understanding to a very simple device in a very low tech operating
environment.

For this reason, I am happy to hear ALL offers for operating fans whether
they appear to be impossibly expensive (flights of fancy) or made from
dung-water and river clay.

This forum is a great place to run mind-experiments! Thanks for
participating so actively! I really appreciate it.

Best regards
Crispin
