Dear Jeff,

Meanwhile, I found in another, (much less old ! ) tinker-book the
shovel-geometry I talked about. I will scan and send it to you by next
e-mail.

But looking for some more information about Pelton-wheels I found utile
information about their historic development and construction/dimension
details.

The copy of my last posting to you, containing my thoughts for
shovel-geometry and the old construction-pictures, which I had sent to the
stoves list as well, was blocked for attach.

Some text from this site copied (plus my translation into English)

angemeldet.

(The American ingeneer Lester A. Pelton after a long time of testing found a
hollow-shovel with mid-cutting-edge and two symmetrical half-cylinders as
best form and applied 1880 for patent.)

(A. Doble made augmentation by ellipsoid shovel-halves and Charles A.
Scharff made the cut-out on the outer border of the shovel. Both inventions
resulted in the today usual shovel-form. Each of the up to 40 shovel-cups of
a turbine consists out of two half-shells.)

Here from another website about:

Kommerzielle Pelton-turbinen mit Generator von einem oestrreicher
Unternehmen:

Commercial Pelton-turbines with generator from an Austrian enterprise:

 Firma Sinnhuber Energietechnik Hintergasse 3 , A 5730 Mittersill

 <mailto:info at energietechnik.at> info at energietechnik.at

As I just saw today, the enterprise sells (down to very small)
turbine-generator units, as there was talked about for very small
electrification with battery-buffer.

The website is partly in English, though there are some interesting things
only in German. Therefore have a look to both languages, even you want to
look only for the pictures.
