Dean,
Great that you will be in Kunming!!
I have friends I am visiting in Shanghai before and after the workshop, but I
will be in Kunming from Thurs 20 July to Sunday 30 July (ticket is being
arranged), and staying the whole time at the University's student
housing. Prof. Pu is my contact there. He is lining up an
English-speaking person to
assist me in the pre-workshop days. I want to seek local sources and
prices of
components for my gasifiers.
There could be two or even more Cat Pee awards that share the total of
$500 and
are within the anounced scope of "forced air and clean burning and low
cost." But there is no need to make any sub-divisions at this time.
Let's see what
the candidates have to offer and then those present will make their
comments on
whether or not two awards should be given. Similarly, if no stove meets the
expectations, the voters could declare "No award given in 2006." We want the
KSCPA to have meaning.
I agree that the university attendees at Stove Camp could have some meaningful
entries. The students could be especially good at the engineering aspects of
turning the prototype stoves into practical, ready to be into production,
stoves. For example, anyone who can show us how to turn the "Juntos B" into a
production line stove with low costs (including the fan and its
controls) would
be doing a very useful service and deserving of recognition and a
chance for the
prize money.
Sincerely,
Paul
