Dear Friends

RE the Meths drinkers who do not die:

Could it be that the methanol, which is more volatile than ethanol, could be
mostly evaporating from the hot bucket of water between when it is added and
the hot water+methylated spirits is drunk?

Perhaps the boiling point of methanol is different enough that they are able
to boil off the methanol and retain the ethanol.

Possible?

The bread is apparently able to affect the taste positively.

Regards
Crispin
