Stovers and GasL readers,

I am in Kunming, China, for the ARECOP gasifier-for-cottage-industry workshop
that starts next Monday. Today I had a 4-hour advance visit to the gasifier
factory that we will be visiting on Wednesday. Mr Hao has an impressive array
of small thermal-gasifiers (all for close-coupled combustion and mainly for
residential cooking). He does not have a website and does not speak English,
and all info to me was via an interpreter. I heard he has about 50,000
gasifiers in the homes in China, and his warehouse stock would tend to support
that number. He was a university teacher of physics (energy issues) until
about 8 years ago when he went into the gasifier business.

There will be more info after the Wednesday session when the gasifiers will be
ignited. Dean Still and David Pennise arrive Sunday, so they can also add to
this thread of messages.

In order to not confuse the threads, I will send a separate one on a technical
topic.

Paul
