Greetings Frank and stove list
I think I was unclear.
There are not going to be any thermistor measurements here, there are probably not even going to be any thermometers. Specialized equipment and 5 liters of water are not really relevant or useful here. They are tools of the wealthy and measurements for the large aid programs.
We need tools that work in direct human ways like direct observation.
We need tools like Rogerio described to Paul:
Rogerio wrote
SNIP....
To test a stove
to see if it is hot enough for tortillas, throw drops of water on it,
and the water should jump and evaporated immediately, that is when you
are about 200C...
SNIP...
Note the conjunction.
There is a color chart for melting metal in the shop and many people on list seem to associate blue flame with CO combustion.
If we could be sure that a certain color of a common metal was at or above the combustion point of CO AND we saw a blue flame it would be nice to have some certainty that CO was actually burning.
If we had a fry bread oil equivalent for Roerio's water we would be cooking!
