[Stoves] Stoves with pot skirts

Dear Dr. Karve,

Maybe there are multiple options for skirts:

1.) adjustable, sliding skirt.
2.) attach to pots (great idea!)
3.) make sure space under the pot does the same things as a skirt on the
sides.

Best,

Dean

Subject: [Stoves] Stoves with pot skirts

There is no doubt that a stove with a skirting around the pot gives higher
efficiency, but such a stove becomes a pot specific stove, that would would
not accept other pots. We build such stoves for restaurants, and they give
efficiencies of 40% or more, but as stated above, each stove is meant for a
particular pot and it would not accept any other pot. Since the smaller
stoves, like the Rocket, Champion, Jiko, etc. are to be used in a household,
one cannot have a pot specific stove. I therefore feel that we should work
on detachable, pot-specific skirtings rather than on skirtings for stoves.
Yours
A.D.Karve
