Dear Stovers
Months ago some one looked for a CH4 measurement .
For digesters flow concentration output reading ,a TOTAL COMBUSTIBLE
GAS indicator is sufficient .
You make it with a FIGARO PELISTOR ( 20 $ ) and Ohm or voltmeter .
200- 5000 ppm CH4 .
For unsensitive readings 5-60 % you need a 1/20 gas /air diluter bypass
.+ pellistor
Or Pt 100 hot wire filament ,measuring the combustion heat by
resistance change .
For PURE METHANE CH4 measurements you need INFRARED Photometer with
filter of 8 um .and
Photo Sensor Pb Se . Lead SELENIDE
The best detailed publication for attemting to construct the basics
with a few opamps chips is :
HP Journal sept 81 pp13 by J .J. KRIEGER .
ANESTESIA CONTROL by breathing air .. CO2 , N2 , H2O , CH4
measurement .
One photometer and 4 filters for different gasses .and PC controlled .
Mind every spair CD rom contains a useful IR sensor and laser for a
gas adsorption meter .
Edmund Scientific USA might have the filters .
Greetings
Frans .
