[Stoves] T-LUD comments for UK and Cambodia

Dear Niels,
The MIDGE uses the T-LUD gasifier technology, and from my experience
T-LUDs are
quite forgiving of making minor changes in the dimensions. Also, you will
discover that fuel-types and even high elevations can require changes to the
dimensions, holes, slots, etc.
Even if you live "off-grid" in the UK, you have access to battery power. So I
recommend that you also consider a forced-air version of T-LUD gasifiers. If
you go to:
http://www.bioenergylists.org/stovesdoc/Anderson/GasifierLAMNET.pdf
you will find on pages 5 - 8 a set of specific instructions about the small
T-LUD gasifier called "Juntos B". And here is a variation to consider:
Instead of having the "air base", simple seal the bottom of the outer can and
have a side entry into the lower part of the can. Place your blower up
to that
side entry. I call this "Juntos B+" and I am taking this design (plus other
designs) to Cambodia today. (I am in Cambodia until 20 December, and
will have
results to report by late January at the ETHOS conference in Seattle.)
Please keep us informed of your experiences with the small T-LUD gasifier
stoves. And I will assist you with making larger ones in 2007.
