[Stoves] FW: PLANTS growing for FUEL// LIGHT energy needed .

Dear Frans
Another point of great importance is the frequency of light. Plants require
red and blue light. Plants look green because this is the portion of the
spectrum they cannot use.
Best wishes,
Kevin

Dear Jeff Davis and Plant breeders
Different plant colours like different spectra !
Some need no light .
See "CHLOROFYL" reaction : light+C02 + water gives sugar .C6H12O6
4 sugars are C24 ..... starch and cell stuff .
Full SUN is 800 W/m2 (in B) and best for fast breeding plants .
Artificial light spectra / see Philips ,Sylvania ,Osram spectra .
Energy comparing :
Incandesent lamp,60 W=60 Candela=1 W/C
" 100W= 1,2 W/C
TL =Fluoresent 50 W= 4 W/C
LED High power RED 23 W 10 W/C
LED High power White 1,3 W 13,8 W/C 18 lumen .=
LX HL-MW 1A 4V 0,35 A=18 Lm=1,3W = +- < 18cd
LED RED 10 cd = O,9 euro =+- 1$
Red is not ideal for breeding plants .<
LED's are 5-30 ° angel sources , ideal . Lamps 360 ° !
(Design Table light should be :400cd/m2 TL lamp for 700 lux on the table
.)
Make your choice and calculation .
Greetings
Frans

As far as I know this is VISIBLE light,
Definition.
"If a light source emits one candela
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candela> of luminous intensity
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminous_intensity> into a solid angle of
one steradian <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steradian>, the total
luminous flux <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luminous_flux> emitted into
that solid angle is one lumen. Alternatively, an isotropic
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isotropic> one-candela light source emits
a total luminous flux of exactly 4? lumens. The lumen can be thought of
casually as a measure of the total "amount" of visible light emitted."

A refrigeration compressor is a high pressure, low volume pump. A
Diaphragm pump is a much better device for bubblers - see aquaria...
Steve
Frigo compressor is for free !
Mechanical energy consumed will give about the same quantity of air
production . Motor load goes down 300 ---100 W .
Aquarium pump is smaller construction 25-50 w .
Compare air output / Watt used .
