Prof Mukunda and All,

With some assistance from Eric Jan R., I have arrived at the publication that
Prof Mukunda mentions:

Quoting Mukunda <mukundahs at cgpl.iisc.ernet.in>:

> There is a world bank report attributed to Hub Stassen a summary of
> which is published [Stassen, H.E.M., 1993. ''UNDP/WB small-scale biomass
> gasifier monitoring report, Volume 1 - Findings the final findings appearing
> in the Journal of Energy and Sustainable Development, pp 41 - 48, Vol II,
> May 1995] that contains the work in Mali.

Here is the URL to find that full 88-page paper. What is referred to as
"small-scale" is far larger than "mini-micro-tiny" things that I work on. The
Chinese work is good, and the Mali gasifier is described, as are others. But
"small" is a relative term and there is nothing in the document (as far as I
could detect) to indicate any product related to usage in single residences,
and not even to the cottage-industry applications that are of ARECOP interest.

This and a few other documents either are or should be linked and
accessible via
the Gasification Website (not the Stoves Internet site).

Unless other documentation is forthcoming, I reject the notion that anyone in
Asia (or elsewhere) had any development work that was concurrent with or prior
to Dr. Thomas B. Reed's conceptualization, experimentation, and prototype
development of what is now referred to as T-LUD pyrolytic gasification.

Prof. Mukunda, when did you or others at IISc begin your work on the IDD/T-LUD
gasifiers? Specifically, when and what sizes of T-LUDs have been made
in India
that you know of?
