I think you are referring to me, Andrew John Heggie, I sign myself AJH
for short. I don't set any rules and I don't remember Tom setting any
explicitly, whilst I got the title "moderator" there has never been
any need to moderate anything as the community seems to jog along
without any animosity. I do try and facilitate the discussion and help
out with administrivia but it's very seldom required so mine's a small
contribution.

Good analogy and it's why it's necessary to repeat old knowledge to a
newbie to the discussion, after all you don't refer someone to last
week's newspaper when they ask you about something that happened in
the neighbourhood.
