[Stoves] Retted Switchgrass Fireball Test 2

Jeff,

There's nothing like a little pilot fuel.

It works for densified products like pellets, cubes and firelogs too. I once
lost a perfectly good batch of cattle feed when some straw cubes caught
fire. They burned better than regular straw cubes which I attributed to the
animal fat that we had added for the feed ration. Since we can't feed animal
fat anymore it could go into solid fuel, if it is not used for biodiesel. At
least one commercial straw firelog producer uses bio-oil as a pilot fuel.

Did you happen to determine how much oil the fireballs absorbed by weight?

Dear List,

I dipped each fireball in cooking oil and allowed them to set for about four

hours. I did not notice any swelling and they were fairly dry to the touch.
This burned vary nice.
