[Stoves] Which technologies will best reduce CO and black carbon, improve health and safety and lower household energy costs?

This point reminds me of something that was not answered some time
ago. I think the soot develops in the secondary flame, burning out
volatiles from the pyrolysis of fresh fuel in the firebed. Other
particulates will be fly ash. I wonder if more turbulent flame
conditions result in more complete burning out of soot but increase
fly ash. Is there any evidence of a change in particulate chemistry
from fan assisted stoves?
