I agree. This stuff is getting better all the time. These are very
impressive figures for fan stoves compared with an open (3 stone) fire.
How do these figures compare with the "rocket with skirt" (reported at ETHOS
2006) which appears to be a good performer compared with the performance
benchmarks proposed at the ETHOS meeting in January?
http://bioenergylists.org/stovesdoc/ETHOS2006/Still/StillETHOS2006.pdf
At that time it was stated that:
1. Improving Heat Transfer Efficiency dramatically decreases wood use, and,
2. Improving Combustion Efficiency decreases emissions.
The performance data shows that the fans appear to increase combustion
efficiency which may also account for the short heating times (time to
boil).
Can the "rocket with skirt" be run under the Stove Camp conditions so that
we have at least one point to compare that stove run under the UCB Water
Boiling Test (with 45 minute simmer) with whatever conditions you used at
stove camp?
Thanks for the good work.
Tom Miles
