[Stoves] Comments about T-LUDs

Dear Roger and Paul,

 We are currently installing about 100 biogas plants per month and the
orders just keep coming, but even our compact biogas plant is too bulky for
being installed in an urban apartment house, where the T-LUD would be more
readily accepted. We feel that we have found a niche market for Paul's
Champion stove. The roadside food vendors today use bottled LPG, which costs
them from Rs. 100 to 200 per day. By using the Champion stove, they would be
spending only Rs. 20 to 30 per day, and if they sell the charcoal to us,
they pay nothing for the wood that they burn in the Champion. The charcoal
that remains behind in the T-LUD stove is a bonus. Wood costs Rupee 1 to 2
per kg. In the T-LUD, 1 kg wood leaves 300g charcoal behind. The cost of
this much charcoal is about Rs.3. Thus by using a T-LUD you not only fully
recover the price of the wood that you use but also make a profit by selling
the residual charcoal. (1 US$=Rs.45)
