Dear Friends

Looking at this again, the steam really does appear to be shortening the 
flame by blowing and mixing in air, while simultaneously cooling the flame 
with the H2O.

Alexis, can you slow the steam flow rate until you have 'adequate' mixing 
and air blast, and see if the flame chances colour?  My suspicion is that it 
will increase the stove's efficiency.
