Thanks for the link.  That is all useful information.

I received an interesting request this week - how to fire a kiln with
biomass where the primary fuel is dung.

That got me to thinking about the possibility of perhaps taking non-woody
biomass (instead) and charcoaling it, making briquettes in a shape of my
choosing and running the kiln on charcoal instead.

Perhaps the best way to approach such a kiln is to concentrate on thermal
efficiency (insulation and moisture control) because the energy input and
the sheer amount of work required will raise the cost quite a bit.  

Bu-u-u-t....when there is no other fuel you have to make a plan...
