Dear Craig
Helpful hint:
Based on my trials with the REDI stove fuel inlet and the FSP stove fuel inlet (which are different) you may need to choke (REDI) or block (FSP) the backflow to get a constant steam flow. The danger of the blocking is of course that it might explode under certain circumstances, so this time take the REDI approach:
Put a very small brass jet on the pipe leading into the boiling chamber that is big enough to vent water and steam should the steam jet become blocked. Then put an even smaller jet on the steam side.
The popping of a bubble inside the boiling chamber will try to push the water column backwards whatever the pressure and you might end up with something like a pulsing heat-powered Humphrey Pump! (See ITDG) So to dampen this, use one or more screw-in jets about 0.8mm or so on the inlet line.
Regards
Crispin
