The method of pulling air sample *through* filter paper is definitely
more reliable.

What kind of microscope are (were) you using?
IMHO, particle counting is for far braver (and more persistent) souls
than I. Advantages: you can get a lot of information; disadvantages: it
requires a lot of person-power. Plus, in order to see these little
particles, you need a fairly good microscope.
