If you're considering a carbohydrate then yes, the energy content is
almost the same as the energy available from the carbon element.

Frank would you know a methodology for sieving particles (wood chips)
into their fractions? It's a bit off topic but I'm having an argument
about proving fines in a sample and I want to sieve out all the sub
3mm bits but the opposing party doesn't want me to have time to get
the pin like slivers out.
