Quoting Dean Still <dstill at epud.net>:

To Dean:
Please send us the status on the availability (for purchase or for
rental/loan)
of the PEMS. It is great equipment, has been shown at ETHOS before, is
actively used at Aprovecho Research Center, but has not yet been available to
anyone else. Specific details on availability of the whole system or of
significant parts would be appreciated.
To all:
Someone mentioned using equipment that is used in automotive exhaust
analysis. How realistic is this, and for what data? Such equipment is
widely available,
and I am sure that friendly automotive repair shops would consider using their
equipment for serious stove research/development.
What about other industries that regularly have and use emissions
equipment that
might be of use to stovers? I do not have a SASOL facility (giant industrial
complex in South Africa where John Davies works) nearby, but maybe some place
like an ethanol refinery or some distributors of something could be helpful.
To Crispin (and Tami and Chris and others):
You constantly impress me (and many others) with your testing equipment and
abilities, such as last year at ETHOS with your little black box for CO/CO2
ratios. On this Listserv we have discussed this topic of equipment,
but why do
we seem stuck with only thermocouples, a clock, a liter pitcher, and a
scale in
grams? Help us get to the next level of emissions testing.
Paul
