[Stoves] Burning coal in cookstoves

Is it important where and when the ash is in contact with the gases containing
the sulfur? I assume it is quite important.
In the different ways of combusting coal, especially the TLUD, can we
introduce
ash directly instead of relying on ash being made, especially if the
ash is not
in the right place at the right time? We need to clearly state what is
the type
of combustion situation when we make our statements, at least until we have
determined that in all or none or which situations this benefit from ash
occurs.
Also, once ash has been used to remove sulfur, is it:
a. thrown away
b. used again because it could hold even more sulfur,
c. other response.
