To all Like Thomas I will be following this mantle discussion with interest. I have used Aladdin lanterns, kerosene pressure lamps and even LPG mantle lamps The warmth of Aladdin in Maine in December is a lot nicer than the heat of a pressure lantern in Taongi but I have never met a mantle I can not destroy.
