With Tom Reed's woodgas stove most kinds of cooking vessels (up to a certain size) can be used with a skirt. If you want to be really creative you can bring the skirt down the side of the stove 10 or so cm's....
A simple pot with two handles lends itself readily to wearing a metal skirt with insulation on the outside.
The flame is controlled and does not burn the skirt off. ---Again, a woodgas stove using a presure cooker, insulated skirt and hat really improves the cooking efficiency.
I've posted very simple skirt designs on the stove website. As far as I know they are original. I shared the designs with Paul Anderson a couple of years ago. With this design you can use it on about any cooking vessel, with a bit of ingenuity.
Tom's stove is similar to a one burn kerosene, petrol, or propane stove. I use one pot for cooking and frying most things on a woodgas stove, with a integrated/semi-permanent metal/wook skirt attached. Again, on a cold, windy day, this is one way to get enough heat to cook outdoors. (The skirt doesn't seem that big of deal until you can't get enough heat to cook your food properly in a non-skirted pot!)
