OK, but there could be choice #3:

Cook your food on a T-LUD type of device and use the charcoal for soil
enrichment (soil fuel). Just an idea...

I see three types of fuels (in order of importance):

1. Soil Fuel (terra preta)

2. People Fuel (food)

3. Device Fuel (biomass)
