Anna,
It's never too late! Jiko Kisasa it is! ("Modern Jiko" maendelo type?) That
is a lot of maendelos and mud rockets. It's exciting to see the numbers of
improved stoves being made.
Send us some pictures or links.
Kind regards,
Tom

Dear Tom,
I hope we are not veeery late!
Let me start by saying that the maendeleo stove being promoted in kenya has
a new name ( Jiko Kisasa). We do not use Upesi jiko because this was a name
used by then ITDG.
For Kenya we have been able to promote a total of 25,870 jiko kisasa stoves
( maendelo stoves) for households and 9000 rocekt mud stove. Stove
activities funded under the DGIS in Kenya, implemented through GTZ - Private
Sector Development in Agriculture Programme.
An average family size of 5 ( national figure) shows that 174,350 people
have been served by Dec. 2006.
Regards Anna Ingwe
